Author Biographies

Oshba AlMheiri received her Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of Sharjah in 2020, and her Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Rochester Institute of Technology, Dubai in 2023. She worked as a Sustainability Engineer and later as a Senior Sustainability Engineer at South Energy, a Dubai South subsidiary, from 2020 to 2024. In 2025, she was promoted within Dubai South and transitioned to the aviation sector as Development Manager at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub. Her research interests include renewable energy strategy, sustainable urban development, and aerotropolis infrastructure planning.
Dr. Dua Weraikat is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology's Dubai campus, where she also serves as the Coordinator of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department and the BSIE Program Coordinator. She earned her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Concordia University in Canada in 2016. She subsequently worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Forest E-Business Research Consortium at Université Laval, where she contributed to research projects focused on enhancing auction systems used by the Québec government for the forest industry. Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. Weraikat completed her Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Jordan. Dr. Weraikat is the Director of the Operations Research Division Board (2025–2027) at IISE and a member of the Council of Industrial Engineering Academic Department Heads (CIEADH). She is also a regular member of CIRRELT (Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation), CORS (Canadian Operational Research Society), and INFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences). Her research interests include operations research, green supply chains, collaboration mechanisms in reverse supply chains for perishable products, and coordination in pharmaceutical supply chains. Her current work focuses on leveraging data analytics and machine learning to develop smarter, more resilient supply chains.
