Dr. Sarah M. Godoy is an Assistant Professor at NYU Silver School of Social Work and a faculty affiliate at the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. She completed her BA studies in Political Science and Women’s Studies at the University of California, Riverside, her MA studies in Social Welfare at the University of California, Los Angeles, and PhD studies in Social Work at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adults, including their intersections with child welfare, legal, and healthcare systems.
Dr. Nofar Mazursky is a Visiting Scholar of the Human and Resilience lab at NYU Marron Institute for Urban Management. She completed her PhD studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and has been awarded the Haruv scholarship for a post-doctoral fellowship, the post-doctoral scholarship from Israel’s Council for Higher Education for outstanding students, and the Israel Scholarship Education Foundation for a post-doctoral fellowship. Her research interests include LGBTQ+ youth in out-of-home care in Israel and specifically on their perceived risk, vulnerability, resilience, well-being, and human trafficking in the U.S. and worldwide.
Dr. William J Hall is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). He completed his BA studies in Psychology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2004, MSW studies in Social Work at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2012, and PhD studies in Social Work at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2015, and has been awarded Graduate Education Advancement Board Impact Award in April 2016, Postdoctoral Scholar Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduates in November 2016, and Dean’s Recognition of Teaching Excellence Award in April 2021. His research interests include LGBTQ young people, internalizing mental health problems, social stressors that threaten mental health, and interventions at multiple socio-ecological levels.
