Suzan Doornwaard, PhD, is an independent research consultant based in The Netherlands. She has a background in interdisciplinary social sciences and obtained her PhD in Youth Studies from Utrecht University in 2015. Her work focuses on the complex dynamics between individuals and the diverse social, cultural, and ecological contexts that shape their experiences. Suzan has led mixed-method research across academic, participatory, and policy-focused settings, integrating diverse methodologies and stakeholder perspectives to advance youth health and well-being.

Albert Ali Salah received his Ph.D. degree (2007) from the Computer Engineering Department of Boğaziçi University. He is a professor and chair of Social and Affective Computing at Utrecht University, Department of Information and Computing Sciences. He works on pattern recognition and computer analysis of human behavior at different scales. He has received the inaugural EBF European Biometrics Research Award in 2006, the BÜVAK Award for Excellence in Research in 2014, and the BAGEP Award of the Science Academy in 2017. He is a senior member of IEEE (2017) and ACM (2020).

Dr. Regina van den Eijnden is Associate Professor at the Department Interdisciplinary Social Science, Youth Studies from Utrecht University in The Netherlands. Van den Eijnden has a background in social psychology and obtained her PhD at the University of Groningen in 1998. Her major research interests include addictive behaviors, gaining insight into processes that underlie the development of adolescents’ Internet-related addictive behaviors (problematic social media use, gaming, and smartphone use), and the impact of these behaviors on adolescents’ mental and psychosocial well-being. She has published > 250 peer reviewed scientific articles and book chapters (H-index = 59).
