Agnese Kretaine:
Specialist, lecturer and doctoral student in the field of educational sciences
at Riga Technical University Liepaja Academy Center of Pedagogy and Social
Work.
She has completed the
bachelor's program in the field of sports pedagogy at the Latvian Academy of
Sports Pedagogy (1995) and the master's program in the field of health care and
physical therapy at Riga Staradins University (2005). She has been a qualified teacher
in the field of physical therapy since 1999 and has obtained a qualification from
Riga Stradina University.
Agnese has worked as a
part-time lecturer at Riga Technical University Liepaja Academy (until 2024
Liepaja University) in different study programs for speech therapists and
physical education teachers in the field of kinesiology, motor development and
physical therapy since 2002. She has been working as a pediatric
physiotherapist for about 30 years in the ''Baltezers''
(1995-1999), Rehabilitation Center of Interdisciplinary Child Development (1999-2011) and in
private practice (2011-today). Her research interests involve the
integration of sports pedagogy and physical therapy at an early age.
She is writing her doctoral thesis on physical literacy and exploring
keystones to access physical literacy in preschool. She is a member of the Latvian Association of
Physical Therapy and a board member of the Pediatric Division of the Latvian
Association of Physical Therapists.
