Author Biographies

The author has a bachelor's degree in statistics from Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, with a master's in mathematical sciences and a Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from the National University of Mexico (UNAM). He completed a research stay at the University of Waterloo, Canada, through the Emerging Leaders in the Americas program. His career includes international publications and conference presentations in inverse problems, data science, artificial intelligence, and scientific computing. He has worked as a consultant, lecturer, and postdoctoral researcher at various institutions, contributing to projects on air pollution, health risk factors, and AI-based medical image analysis. His work has been recognized with several distinctions, including second place in the national “Francisco Aranda-Ordaz Award” for the best master’s thesis in statistics, first place in the Best Paper Award at the Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence 2023, and third place in the research category of the AFIRME–FUNAM Award 2024. He has also received awards in various data science competitions, such as first place in the “Learning with Noisy Graph Labels” challenge at the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks 2025. He is currently a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI), the International Neural Network Society, and the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society.
