Blaž Omahen completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2023, where his work focused on developing new fluorination methodologies. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Chemistry at KU Leuven, Belgium, continuing research in organofluorine chemistry with applications in medicinal chemistry. His research interests also include NMR spectroscopy.
Prof. Dr. Francisco de Azambuja has been an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at KU Leuven, Belgium, since 2023. He obtained his PhD in 2015 from the Institute of Chemistry, State University of Campinas, Brazil, and was also a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Kansas, USA from 2016 to 2018. Prof. Dr. Francisco de Azambuja’s research interests mainly center on organic chemistry, catalysis, and catalytic materials. His expertise also extends to fluorine chemistry, medicinal chemistry, materials science, bioinorganic chemistry, and asymmetric catalysis.
