Dr. Fenli Zheng is a second-level professor at the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Geography in 1983 from Northwestern University, a Master’s degree in Soil Science in 1986 from the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Ph.D. in 1997 from the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Water Resources. From April 1999 to April 2001, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory, Purdue University. In 1999, she joined Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University as a researcher. She is a member of the sixth academic review group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, was selected to be part of the first batch of the National New Century Hundred Thousand Talents Project, won the third China Youth Science and Technology Award, and was selected into the Shaanxi Province “Three Five Talents” Project. Her research topics mainly include (1) soil erosion and soil and water conservation; and (2) climate change and ecohydrology.

Dr. Jiaqiong Zhang is an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, and an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Water Resources. She received a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science in 2008 from Minzu University of China College of Life and Environmental Sciences and a Ph.D. in Physical Geography in 2013 from Beijing Normal University Institute of Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management. From July 2013 to October 2017, she was an assistant researcher at the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, and the Soil and Water Conservation Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Water Resources. Since November 2017, she has been an associate researcher. Her main research interests include the soil multi-factor combined erosion and composite fingerprint identification of sediment sources.
