Author Biographies

Rajesh Kumar S. holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, both awarded by Anna University in 2009 and 2011, respectively. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. He began his academic career as a Lecturer at Park College of Engineering and Technology, serving from 2011 to 2014. He then joined C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology, where he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering from 2014 to 2021, and he also served as the Head of the Department (in charge) from 2018 to 2021. His research interests are primarily focused on jet flow dynamics and aeroacoustics.
Dr. B.T. Kannan is an accomplished academic in aerospace engineering, specializing in turbulent flows, experimental fluid mechanics, and multiphase flow dynamics. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), bringing over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy. He earned his Ph.D. from IIT Madras, where his work on turbulent jets received high commendation, and holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Aeronautical Engineering. Dr. Kannan’s research spans droplet dynamics, high-speed imaging, flow visualization, jet flows, gel propellants, aero-acoustics, and combustion. His recent work focuses on Leidenfrost-effect droplet dynamics and fuel–water emulsions. He has held the position of Research Scholar at IIT Madras, using facilities such as TUFF-EL and the CIFAAR Lab. He is a reviewer for journals such as Physics of Fluids, Energy Conversion and Management, and other publications under Elsevier, Springer, SAGE, and SAE. He has received several accolades, including the Best Paper Award at ICCHMT 2015 and international travel grants. A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Kannan actively develops student-centric programs via innovation, experimentation, and entrepreneurship. His collaborative initiatives include hands-on workshops on natural fiber composites, sensor-based diagnostics, and startup competitions. His ongoing contributions continue to shape the future of aerospace research and education.
