Prof. Dr. Akshay Kumar Saha is currently an Associate Professor and the Academic Leader of research and higher degrees at the School of Engineering, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. His research interests include advances in power systems in various areas, including engineering education. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa and a Fellow of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers, a Fellow of South African Academy of Engineering. He is also a Senior Member of SAIMC, a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf), and an Individual Member of Cigre. He was awarded the Best Lecturer Electrical Engineering (2013–2014) and (2016–2019), the Research Excellence Award in the years 2015–2022, and the Top 30 Publishing Researcher Award for 2020–2021 by the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is acting as an editorial board member for a number of top-tier international journals.
