Ki-Jong Rhee holds a Bachelor of Health Science from the Department of Biomedical Laboratory Science, Yonsei University; a Master of Science from the Department of Microbiology, Kangwon National University; and a Ph.D. from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Loyola University Chicago Medical School, earned in 1992, 1997, and 2004, respectively. He then served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University (2004–2008) and as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition at the University of Illinois Chicago Medical School (2008–2010). He is currently a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Laboratory Science, College of Software and Digital Healthcare Convergence, Yonsei University.
