Dr.Abhishek K. Singh is an Assistant Professor in
the Department of Thermal and Fluid Engineering (Thermal Engineering Group) at
the University of Twente. He completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at
the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA, in August 2013. During his Ph.D., he
developed various multi-physics models to study solar thermochemical fuel
production processes at multiple scales. His research was funded by the US Dept. of
Energy projects. During this period, he also received a Marshall Plan Foundation
fellowship to carry out research at FHV Austria as an exchange student. After the
completion of his Ph.D., he received a DAAD-DLR postdoctoral fellowship to
perform research at the Institute of Solar Research, German Aerospace Center
(DLR), Cologne, Germany. He then joined the Georgia Institute of Technology,
Atlanta, USA, as a postdoctoral researcher. His research focuses on
understanding thermal transport and reaction phenomena at the material scale
and applying this knowledge to develop stable, scalable and efficient devices for
high-temperature processes.
