Li Su was appointed Professor of Neuroimaging at the
University of Sheffield in 2020. He also holds a part-time PI position in the Department
of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge. He leads the Alzheimer’s Research
UK East Network Centre and is an elected Fellow in Clare Hall, University of
Cambridge. He earned a Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience from the University
of Kent in 2009. After several years of postdoctoral research in the Institute
of Psychiatry at King’s College London, MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit
and the University of Cambridge, he was awarded a highly competitive Senior
Research Fellowship from Alzheimer’s Research UK in 2017. He leads the
Artificial Intelligence & Computational Neuroscience Group, which aims to
combine innovative and original computational methods with state-of-the-art
brain imaging techniques such as MEG/EEG, 7T MRI and PET in understanding,
detecting and developing treatments for neurological and psychiatric
conditions. He won the International College of Geriatric
Psychoneuropharmacology Junior Investigator Award in 2015.
Amy Grayson is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sheffield
Hallam University. She completed her BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences at
Sheffield Hallam University, including a year’s placement at the University of
Sheffield. She earned her MSc by Research from The Manchester Metropolitan
University before returning to Sheffield Hallam University to pursue a Ph.D. in
targeted protein analysis, with a Ph.D. research project focusing on the
development and optimization of targeted proteomic mass spectrometry assays
using MRM-LC-MS/MS for the quantification of nuclear proteins. She is also part
of the Contract Research Team within the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre
and has undertaken a number of interdisciplinary research projects as part of
her role.
Dr Simon M. Bell received a PhD in Neuroscience
from the University of Sheffield. He is currently an NIHR Clinical
Lecturer in Neurology focusing on developing the understanding of dysfunctional
metabolism in dementia and how this may be developed into future treatments and
biomarkers for the disease. His research focuses on analyzing the
metabolism of astrocytes and other cell types in Alzheimer’s disease using an induced
Neuronal Progenitor Cell model system and other model systems.
Prof. Arshad Majid is the Head of the Department of
Neurosciences, the Chair of Cerebrovascular Neurology and a Consultant
Neurologist at the University of Sheffield. He graduated in Medicine from the
University of Glasgow, Scotland. He did additional Fellowship training in
Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin,
served as the founding Director of the Division of Cerebrovascular Diseases at
Michigan State University and was the founding Medical Director of the William
and Claire Dart Stroke Center at Sparrow Health System. He is a diplomate of
the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Fellow of the Royal
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and also serves as their Regional
Advisor. His research interests include translational neuroscience and clinical
trials in stroke.
