Iván N. Camal Ruggieri, MD, is a young neurosurgeon in training with clinical and academic experience in both Argentina and Germany. He completed his medical degree at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario in Argentina, where he gained early academic experience in neuroanatomy and biochemistry. After obtaining his medical license in Germany, he began his neurosurgical training at the General Hospital Bamberg, where he currently works as a resident in the Department of Neurosurgery. His research interests include bone biochemistry, neuroanatomy, and minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures. He has authored and co-authored several scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals, covering topics such as bone regeneration, neuroanatomy, and neurosurgical techniques. In addition to his clinical and research work, Camal Ruggieri gained teaching experience early in his career as a teaching assistant in anatomy and as a lecturer in biochemistry, following the completion of his medical degree at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario.
Guenther C Feigl is an internationally renowned expert in
minimally invasive cranial and spinal neurosurgery. His expertise includes
skull base surgery, neurooncology, and surgeries for complex degenerative
spinal diseases, including scoliosis correction procedures. He studied in
Dallas, Houston, and Graz and conducted brain tumor research at the
Neuroscience Institute at Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical
Center in Houston. He completed his neurosurgical training in Germany, training
at the International Neuroscience Institute (INI) in Hannover. He also finished
his residency in neurosurgery in Tübingen. He earned his Ph.D. from Eberhard
Karls University in Tübingen and was appointed as an associate professor of
neurosurgery. As the Head of Skull Base Surgery at Katharinenhospital in
Stuttgart, he specialized in minimally invasive neurosurgery and
neuroendoscopy. Currently, he serves as the chairman of the Department of
Neurosurgery at Klinikum Bamberg, the Director of both the Brain Tumor Center
Bamberg and the Skull Base Center Bamberg, both of which he founded, and the
Medical Director of the outpatient clinic Neuronetz Bamberg. He became an
affiliate faculty member at the Houston Methodist Research Institute (HMRI)
Neurosciences Research Program in 2018 and Adjunct Professor of Neurosurgery at
the Houston Methodist Hospital (IAM) in 2019. In 2023, he received an honorary
professorship from Zdravstveno veleučilište Zagreb.
