Piyoni Sandunika Ruwanpathirana received her BS in Agriculture from the University of Jaffna in 2022. She worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Jaffna (2022– 2023). In 2024, she moved to Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and was promoted to a Graduate Research Assistant Position in 2024. She was a member of the Young Scientist Forum at the National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka. She received a merit award for publication and a dean's merit award for best research at the University of Jaffna. Her research topics mainly include Phytoremediation, Abiotic Stress, Nutrient Removal Efficiency, and Antioxidant activities.
