Author Biographies

AWOUSSI Yaovi Modeste obtained his master’s degree in architecture in 2016 at EAMAU (African School of Architecture and Urban Planning). He is currently pursuing a doctorate at CERVIDA-DOUNEDON (Regional Center of Excellence on Sustainable Cities in Africa) in the field of Sustainable Urban Development / Habitat and Sustainable Construction. He worked as an architect at GFA Consulting Group GmbH (2021-2024) on the project named " Programme de Formation Technique et professionnelle et Emploi des Jeunes", abbreviated PAFPE, funded by the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). This project aimed to develop and construct schools in both urban and rural areas throughout the entirety of Togo's territory. Since 2019, he has also been a co-manager architect at the ARCHITECT GROUP ART (AG_Art) architecture firm, which works on developing architectural concepts based on local construction practices. His research topics mainly include vernacular architecture, local materials, traditional building techniques, cultural identity, sustainable construction, vernacular architecture, physical vulnerability, climatic phenomena, vulnerability index, resilient architecture, thermal comfort, and energy efficiency.
