Dr. Mohamad Kashef is a distinguished Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at Effat University. He holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and is a Registered Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects as well as a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC). Dr. Kashef has held executive and leadership roles in higher education institutions, multinational consulting firms, and development organizations. His expertise spans curriculum design, interdisciplinary and experiential learning, academic conference coordination, international accreditation, and quality assurance. A widely recognized scholar, Dr. Kashef has made substantial contributions to the fields of architecture, urban planning, urban design, and sustainability. His publications are frequently cited and have advanced the discourse in these areas. He has also played a pivotal role in preserving architectural heritage, particularly through his conservation work in historic districts and monuments. Notably, his efforts in Cairo’s Citadel District earned a prestigious nomination for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, highlighting the cultural and academic significance of his contributions.
