Niccolò Nova is an MSc student in Biomolecular Chemistry at the University of Parma, where he also earned his BSc. He is a hard-working and dedicated student with a strong interest in bioinorganic chemistry, focusing on molecules with biological activity, such as anticancer drugs, or functionalized supramolecular constructs (MC). Currently, Niccolò is completing the second year of his MSc degree in Biomolecular Chemistry, and he has been awarded an Overworld grant, enabling him to spend six months for his MSc experimental thesis at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in the Pecoraro Lab, where he is working on metallacrown functionalization with biological molecules, such as protein systems with new innovative fluorophores. He is expected to graduate in October 2025 with top marks.

Dr. Giovanni Roviello holds a Master's degree with honors in Chemistry and a PhD in Biotechnology. He works as a senior researcher at the Institute of Biostructure and Bioimaging (IBB) of the Italian National Council for Research (CNR) in Naples, Italy. He has been a visiting researcher in Germany (IMB Jena, Georg-August University, FAU University Erlangen), the UK (University of Greenwich), and Ireland (UCD Dublin), specializing in bio-organic chemistry. He has strong academic ties with AMU University of Poznan (Poland), where he lectured on nucleic acids for Ph.D. students in 2021, and with YSU (Armenia) and Geomedi University (Georgia), where he was appointed honorary professor in Medicinal Chemistry in 2012. Dr. Roviello is the principal investigator for CNR on various international projects, including EU- and the Royal Society (UK)-funded projects. He serves as an academic editor for several international journals and has authored more than 130 scientific papers. He is listed among the top 2% of scientists in Stanford University's 2023 Author Database (Ioannidis, J. P. A., 'Updated Science-Wide Author Databases', 2024).
