Carla Andreotti Damante is an Associate Professor of Periodontology at the Bauru School of Dentistry –
University of São Paulo (FOB-USP), currently serving as Coordinator of the
Undergraduate Dentistry Program. She holds a Master’s and PhD in Periodontology
from the University of São Paulo. Also holds a specialization in Periodontology and
a certification in laser therapy. She brings over 25 years of experience in cell
culture research and clinical studies involving laser applications in
Dentistry, with a particular emphasis on Periodontology. Research areas include
photobiomodulation in wound healing, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy in
periodontal treatment, and the use of surgical lasers in periodontics. She is a member
of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), the World
Federation for Laser Dentistry (WFLD), the Brazilian Society for Dental
Research (SBPqO), and the Brazilian Society of Periodontology (SOBRAPI).
Rafael Ferreira is an Adjunt Professor at the School of Dentistry – Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), Brazil. He holds a Master’s degree in Oral Rehabilitation and a PhD in Periodontology from the University of São Paulo (USP). He also holds a specialization in Implant Dentistry. He brings experience in both clinical practice and research, with a focus on Periodontology, Implant Dentistry, and the care of patients with special needs. Research areas include non-surgical periodontal therapy, use of antimicrobial agents, laser applications, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT), cell culture (fibroblasts and osteoblasts), root surface biomodification, and oral health in individuals with Down syndrome. Member of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).
