Jose Antonio de Paz received his Bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Oviedo, a Master's degree in sports biology and medical applications from the University of Strasbourg, and a Ph.D. from the University of Salamanca. Since 1990, he has been a professor of physiology at the Faculty of Biomedicine and Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the University of León. His research interests include exercise physiology, prescription for people with impaired health, multiple sclerosis, and exercise.
Ángel Gallego-Selles is a postdoctoral researcher in Exercise Physiology, currently funded by the Catalina Ruiz postdoctoral grant (APCR2023010007), supported by the Government of the Canary Islands and the European Social Fund. He is affiliated with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and is currently on a research stay at the University of León, focusing on molecular adaptations to strength training. He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedicine with International and Cum Laude distinctions, has presented his work at international conferences, and has received awards, including the Young Investigator Award from the European College of Sport Sciences. His expertise combines molecular biology and applied sports science, including strength assessment, muscle signaling, and physiological testing. He is also involved in academic teaching and co-supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
