Author Biographies

Huijuan Huo, born in November 1987, is a senior engineer and holds a doctoral degree. Currently employed at the Technology Research and Development Department of the Technology and Economics Center of State Grid Economic Research Institute, she has long been engaged in scientific research in fields such as power technology and economics, engineering carbon emission accounting, and green and low-carbon evaluation. She is also a member of the Large Power Grid Planning Technology Sub-Committee of the IEEE PES China Operation Planning Economics Technical Committee. Her research achievements have won more than ten science and technology progress awards at the industry, company and social levels. Five of her patents have been authorized. She has had over twenty academic papers published in core journals or above, and as the main author, she has compiled three enterprise standards and written one monograph.
Gang Dan, born in 1974, is a professor-level senior engineer. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, majoring in Power System and Its Automation, and obtained a bachelor's degree. Currently serving as the director of the Substation Division of the UHV Division of State Grid Corporation of China, he has long been engaged in the design of ultra-high and UHV projects, the research and development of substation equipment and key components, and the optimization of line tower type design. He is responsible for providing technical guidance, management decision-making, and overall coordination throughout the entire process of UHV project construction. He has won nine provincial- and ministerial-level awards, obtained six invention patents, published five papers, participated in the formulation of over ten national and industry standards for ultra-high-voltage AC transmission technology, and contributed to the compilation of nine scientific and technological books.
Peidong Li, born in 1978, graduated from the College of Economics and Management, North China Electric Power University with a Master's degree in Technology Economics and Management in 2007. His research focuses on technology economic evaluation theory and application. He serves as Deputy Director of the Technology Economics Center at State Grid Economic and Technical Research Institute Co., Ltd., and has been honored as an Outstanding Expert Talent of State Grid Corporation. Li has long been responsible for providing technical and economic support for key company projects and conducting research in the field of power technology economics. He has carried out numerous studies and practical work in areas such as transmission and transformation project cost estimation, comprehensive bidding, and technology economic theory. He has led or significantly contributed to over twenty national and bureau-level science and technology progress awards from State Grid Corporation, and received seven industry-level awards.
Shuo Wang, born in December 1995, is an economist and a master's degree holder. He currently works at the Technology Research and Development Department of the Technical Economics Center. Wang has long been engaged in research on power technology economics, power supply chain, flexibility resource economic analysis, and engineering carbon emission accounting. He is familiar with infrastructure technical and economic reviews, infrastructure cost analysis, quota standard setting, and cost management improvement. As the leader of sub-projects and key project members, he has undertaken over twenty company-level science and technology projects, including "Research on Enhancing the Quality and Efficiency of Power Grid Investment under Electricity-Carbon Market Linkage,"  "Research on Grid Investment Efficiency and Synergistic Optimization Technology Based on Regional Economic Growth Poles," and "Research on Cost Optimization Technology for Grid Material Procurement Based on Demand-Pricing Linkage." He has received one Science and Technology Progress Award from the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and two awards from the State Grid Economic Research Institute. Wang has published more than ten academic papers in core journals or higher and has filed fourteen invention patents.
Xin Qie, born in 1983, graduated from North China Electric Power University with a bachelor's degree in power system and automation. He mainly studied power grid-related work and later pursued a doctoral degree in power system and automation. Since 2018, he has been working in the UHV Division of State Grid Corporation of China.
Yaqi Sun, born in 2001, is currently studying for an Engineering Master's degree in Logistics Engineering and Management at North China Electric Power University. She started her studies in 2023, focusing on cutting-edge research in energy system optimization, particularly in ultra-high-voltage transmission technology and offshore wind power development. Her work combines technical engineering solutions with economic feasibility analysis, aiming to promote sustainable energy transition. With outstanding academic performance, she received an academic scholarship in 2023, taking advanced modules such as Operations Research, Economics, and Engineering Management. She also joined the Coordinating Branch of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology.
Cheng Xin, born in October 1990, is currently a specialist at State Grid Economic and Technical Co., Ltd. He graduated from the Business School of RMIT University in Australia with a Master's degree in Finance in 2016. His current position is that of an Intermediate Economist. From 2017 to the present, he has been working at the Technology and Economics Center of State Grid Economic and Technical Research Institute Co., Ltd., specifically as a specialist in the Technology Research and Development Department. He has received awards such as Advanced Individual of China Electricity Council, Advanced Individual of Economic Research Institute, and Young Position Expert of Economic Research Institute.
Tianqiong Chen, born in 1989, is currently an employee of State Grid Economic and Technical Research Institute Co., LTD. They graduated from the School of Thermal Power Engineering at North China Electric Power University in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Thermal Power Engineering, receiving the National Scholarship. They graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation at North China Electric Power University in 2015 with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Since 2015, they have been working at the Technical Economics Center of State Grid Economic Research Institute Co., Ltd., serving as a Senior Engineer.
