Zeraslasie Redie Shiker is a PhD researcher at the University of Leeds, researching Eritrean diaspora politics. He obtained an MA in African Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Bradford in 2010. Zeraslasie also graduated with a BA in Political Science from the University of Asmara in 2001. Moreover, Zeraslasie served in the Diplomatic Services of Eritrea between 2000 and 2008. Since 2012, he has been working in the humanitarian sector of the UK, supporting refugees and asylum seekers in operational and management capacities. His research interests focus on African politics and diplomacy, refugees and diasporic communities, and humanitarian work.
Dr. Samson Maekele Tsegay is a Research Fellow at the School of Education, Anglia Ruskin University, UK. He obtained an MA and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy (Comparative Education) at Beijing Normal University, China. In 2020, he also completed another Ph.D. in Education and Social Justice at the University of Roehampton, UK. Before joining Beijing
Normal University, Dr. Samson worked for about ten years at the University of Asmara and the National Board for Higher Education, Eritrea. Moreover, he has conducted various research projects and published many articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Samson also serves as an Editorial Board Member for different academic journals, such as Teaching in Higher Education and Access: Critical explorations of equity in higher education. Additionally, he is acting as the Regional Editor for Bloomsbury Education and Childhood Studies (for Higher Education and Youth--Eritrea). His research interests focus on comparative education, migration studies, and global citizenship education.
