Prof. Yongyi Shen is a Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, South China Agricultural University. He received his B.S. from the School of Life Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China, in 2004 and Ph.D degree in 2010 from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was associate professor at the State Key Laboratory of Genetic Resources and Evolution, Kunming Institute of Zoology, The Chinese Academy of Sciences. He had two years of visiting scholar’s experience at the University of Hong Kong. He received the professor position at South China Agricultural University in January 2016. His research currently focuses on computational biology and patho-ecology, such as the evolution of avian flu viruses, and the population evolution of viruses.
