Prof. Dougyoung Chung received his Master's in Soil
Biophysics from Michigan State University and his PhD in Soil Physics from
Clemson University. He previously studied Agro-Academics at Konkuk University.
He has held research and academic positions at the University of California,
Riverside, Clemson University, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology
Environmental Research Center, and the Jinro Research Institute's Department of
Water Treatment Research. He later joined the Department of Bio-Environmental
Chemistry at Chungnam National University, College of Agriculture and Life
Sciences, where he currently serves as a professor. His research topics mainly
include the following: soil physics, development of agricultural environmental pollution
restoration technology, and evaluation of the impact and harm caused by
radiation and heavy metal ion contamination in agricultural ecosystems near
mining zones.
