Stefan Kluge is a German doctor and specialist in internal medicine with a focus on pneumology and special training in internal intensive medicine. He is a Professor at the University of Hamburg. He studied at the Universities of Gießen and Hamburg from 1989 and received his doctorate in 1997. He completed his specialist training in the Medical Clinic of the St. Joseph-Stift Hospital in Bremen and in 1999 became a research assistant in the Medical Core and Polyclinic of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. In 2005, he was appointed Senior Physician at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. In 2009, he completed his habilitation in internal medicine at the University of Hamburg. In the same year, he took over the management of the Clinic for Intensive Care Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf with its 11 intensive care units for adults (currently 146 beds). In 2014, he was appointed Professor at the University of Hamburg. He is a member of the Presidium of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DIVI) and is on the board of the German Society for Internal Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DGIIN).
