Prof. Dr. Ajay Kumar Kushwaha is the Head of Department (HoD) of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science and an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Indore. He received the B.Sc. in Physics & Mathematics and M.Sc. in Physics with a specialization in Electronics from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, formerly Kanpur University, Uttar Pradesh, India. Then, he worked as a ‘Lecturer of Physics’ in engineering colleges affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. He received a Ph.D. in Nanomaterials from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) in 2014. He joined as a SCIENTIST-I’ at ‘Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) Singapore. During his stay at IMRE, he worked on metal oxide functional coatings to develop smart windows and electrochromic glasses for green buildings. He received the DST-INSPIRE Faculty Fellow Award in 2016 from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Then, he joined the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science at IIT Indore at the INSPIRE Faculty in July 2016 and worked as an Assistant Professor in September 2017. He is the recipient of the SERB-Early Career Research Award (2017) from the Government of India. His research interests include Electrochemistry, Nanomaterials, Thin films, Clean Energy, Green Hydrogen, Hydrogen Evolution Reaction, Electrochemical Sensors, Corrosion Analysis, Semiconductors, and 2D Materials.
