Author Biographies

Dr. Shinya Takeuchi currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Disaster and Emergency Medicine at Kochi Medical School in Nankoku, Kochi, Japan. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine from Kochi University and later obtained a Master of Public Health from the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Takeuchi's professional journey includes roles such as Clinical Assistant in Emergency Medicine at Teikyo University (2017–2019) and Chief Physician in the Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Kochi Medical Center (2019–2021). His clinical and research interests focus on emergency medicine, disaster response, and public health. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications, including a case report on cerebral infarction following anaphylactic shock due to cold-induced urticaria, published in QJM in 2023. Dr. Takeuchi is an active member of multiple professional societies, including the Japanese Society for Emergency Medicine, the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine, and the Japanese Society for Disaster Medicine. His contributions to medical education and emergency care practice have been recognized through his involvement in national guideline development and authorship of clinical handbooks.
Dr. Yoshiyasu Okuhara is an Emeritus Professor at the Center of Medical Information Science, Kochi Medical School, Japan, with a distinguished career in medical informatics and clinical data science. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Tohoku University and began his academic journey as a Research Associate at the Center of Medical Information Science, Kochi Medical School, in 1991. Over the years,he progressed through various academic positions, including Associate Professor and Professor, contributing significantly to the development of hospital information systems and clinical decision support tools. Dr. Okuhara's research focuses on the application of real-world data and machine learning techniques to enhance clinical reasoning and patient care.
Dr. Yutaka Hatakeyama is a Professor at the Center of Medical Information Science, Kochi University Medical School, Japan. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science in 1999 and his Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering in 2004, both from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Following his doctoral studies, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, he joined Kochi University as an Associate Professor at the Center of Medical Information Science and was promoted to Professor in 2022. Dr. Hatakeyama's research focuses on medical data mining, particularly the analysis of real-world data to develop predictive models for clinical applications.
