Dr. Lai-Hon Chung pursued Ph.D. studies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Chun-Yuen Wong and received his Ph.D in Chemistry in 2015 from the City University of Hong Kong. Beyond Ph.D. studies, he stayed in Wong's group while conducting postdoctoral research mainly on transition-metal-mediated activation of unsaturated carbon–carbon bonds. In late 2019, he joined Guangdong University of Technology as a lecturer and started research on crystalline frameworks and their applications in sustainable catalysis as well as energy conversion.

Prof. Dr. Chun-Yuen Wong received his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2005 from the University of Hong Kong. From 2005 to 2006, he conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University, supported by the Croucher Foundation Fellowship. In 2006, he joined the Department of Chemistry at the City University of Hong Kong, where he is now Associate Dean (Outreach and Internationalisation) of the College of Science. He serves as Vice-President of the Hong Kong Society of Cosmetic Chemists. His research topics mainly include the activation of alkynes by transition metal complexes, synthesis and applications of heterocycles, metal-vinylidene chemistry, metallacycles, metal-heterocyclic compounds, DFT calculations, drug discovery and delivery, nanostructure fabrication, cosmetic raw materials, and cosmetic formulation development.
