Dr. Guilherme C. Barbosa is a research assistant at Technische Universität Berlin, Berlin, Germany. He obtained his PhD in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) in 2019. From 2021 to 2022, he was a research fellow at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. For the last seven years, Dr. Barbosa has been working on research in flight dynamics with a focus on control theory applied to highly flexible aircraft. At the same time, he has participated in experimental projects focused on integrating embedded real-time systems and sensors, such as post-processing and data analysis.
Prof. Dr. Flávio J. Silvestre is a full professor of Aerospace Engineering at the Department of Flight Mechanics, Flight Controls and Aeroelasticity, Technische Universität Berlin, Berlin, Germany. He holds an MSc in Aerospace Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica in 2007 and a PhD in Flight Mechanics, Flight Control, and Aeroelasticity from Technische Universität Berlin in 2013. Prof. Silvestre’s research centers on issues related to the increase in airframe flexibility, particularly the dynamics and control of flexible aircraft and aeroservoelasticity. Additionally, he teaches in the following disciplines for undergraduate and graduate courses: flight control, aircraft performance, introduction to aerospace engineering, and flying qualities.
