Prof. Denis J. Murphy serves as Emeritus Professor of Biotechnology at the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science, University of South Wales. After earning his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of York in 1977, he accumulated decades of experience as an international consultant for governmental agencies and private organizations, specializing in agricultural biotechnology, genetically modified crops, biofuel development, and global food security initiatives. Currently holding key advisory positions, he chairs the Biology Advisory Committee at the Malaysian Palm Oil Board and is a Biotechnology Advisor to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. As an active member of the Genetic and Molecular Research group, his scientific work concentrates on genomic analysis and bioinformatics applications in oilseed crops, with particular emphasis on rapeseed, soybean,and oil palm species.
