Author Biographies

Dovile Kukukaite is a professor at the Monterrey Institute of Technology (Mexico) and the Autonomous University of Queretaro (Mexico) and is a PhD student in Innovation, Technology, and Habitat at another university. Her doctoral research focuses on the resilience of socio-ecological systems in urban landscapes. Before, she worked in various architecture studios and studied thermal mass materials for roofs to provide thermal comfort in Queretaro. Dovile graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania) in 2011 and completed her master’s in Sustainable Architecture and Advanced Design at the Autonomous University of Queretaro (Mexico) in 2018.
Miguel Angel Bartorila is a full-time professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the Autonomous University of Querétaro, Mexico, where he leads the group "City, Territory, and Project Research." He has a PhD in Urban Planning and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Architectural Design from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain. He holds an Architecture degree from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. He is a member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico and received the Research Award from the 6th Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urban Planning. His area of expertise is the coevolutionary process of the natural ecosystem and urban artifacts and their potential connections with urban well-being and efficiency. His recent publications cover the revitalization of cities, sustainability and added value, and urban ecotones.
Prof. Claudia Gutiérrez-Antonio has a Doctorate in Science in Chemical Engineering from the Celaya Institute of Technology (2007). They are a Professor-Researcher at the Faculty of Engineering of the Autonomous University of Querétaro. They are a National Researcher Level 2 of the National System of Researchers (Mexico). Moreover, they are an author of 60 scientific articles, 25 book chapters, 30 scientific dissemination articles, and three books on biofuels production. They are the Associate Editor of Applied Soft Computing Journal, and Frontiers in Chemical Engineering, as well as the Coordinator of the Master of Science in Sustainable Technologies, and of the Sustainable Bioenergy Production Processes Research Group, part of the Ibero-American Network of Biomass and Bioenergy Technologies.
