Author Biographies

Ștefania-Mihaela Riza obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2019 and is currently pursuing a PhD in Chronic Wound Management within the Department of Plastic Surgery at the same institution. She has been serving as a Plastic Surgery Resident at Elias University Emergency Hospital since 2020. In 2022, she was appointed Assistant Professor at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, where she is involved in medical education and clinical training. Her primary research interests include plastic and reconstructive surgery, chronic wound management, skin oncology surgery, breast reconstruction, and hand surgery.
Andrei-Ludovic Porosnicu earned, from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, a BS in Medicine (2013) and a PhD in Medical Sciences (2021). He is now a Plastic Surgery Specialist affiliated with the Elias University Emergency Hospital and the Clinical Emergency Hospital for Plastic, Reconstructive and Burns Surgery in Bucharest. His work in plastic and reconstructive surgery has resulted in multiple publications, including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, numerous presentations at international and national conferences, workshops, and academic courses; memberships in professional societies such as the European Rhinoplasty Society, the Romanian Association of Plastic Surgeons, and the Romanian College of Physicians; and awards, including the 1st Prize for the e-Poster Presentation at the "3 in 1 Joint Congress" (2022). His research interests include breast reconstruction, aesthetic surgery, chronic wound management, and skin cancer reconstruction.
Dr. Cristian-Sorin Hariga is an Associate Professor at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He completed his PhD studies in Medicine at Carol Davila University in 2007, and has been awarded distinctions such as the First Prize of the Romanian Association of Plastic Surgeons (ACPR) in 2015, the Diploma of Merit of ACPR in 2004, and the Honorary Diploma of the Romanian Society of Surgery and the Romanian Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (SRCE and SRMR) in 2000. He recently led major projects including the Tempus Project JEP 3623 and the research project ZETTAskin, financed by the EU and UEFISCDI, respectively. He has published 25 papers in specialty journals, 31 articles in conference volumes, one monograph, and two book chapters, and serves as a member of professional societies such as ACPR, SRCM, SRMR, EPRAS, IPRAS, MBC, and EACMS, as well as acting as coordinator and scientific lead for several research projects. His teaching disciplines include plastic and reconstructive surgery, acute and chronic wound management, and surgical techniques, and his interests include bioactive materials for wound healing, surgical education, and clinical research in reconstructive surgery.
Prof. Dr. Ruxandra-Diana Sinescu-Băltățanu is a Full Professor at the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Microsurgery, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest. She completed her PhD studies in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Carol Davila University in 2010, with the thesis "Hand Transplantation – Clinical and Surgical Protocol." She has been awarded several distinctions, including her election as Vice-President of the Romanian Association of Plastic Surgeons (2019–present), and holds memberships in prestigious international societies such as ISAPS, ASPS, ESPRAS, IPRAS, and EBA. She recently led three national competitive grants and participated in five additional research projects nationally, as well as being an investigator in two international studies. She has published 32 ISI-indexed papers with impact factors, 13 papers indexed in international databases, co-authored 6 chapters in specialty books, and authored 2 monographs. She serves as Senior Editor for the Romanian Journal of Clinical and Experimental Dermatology and reviewer for Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Global Open. Her teaching disciplines include plastic and reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, hand surgery, oncologic reconstruction, and aesthetic surgery, and her interests include interdisciplinary approaches in plastic surgery, experimental microsurgery, chronic wound management, and clinical education.
