Tamás István Unger is an experienced spectrum management expert at the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) of Hungary. His main focus is radiowave propagation and frequency coordination for land mobile services, especially under the HCM Agreement, where he currently chairs the Mobile Systems Subgroup of the HCM Technical Working Group. In 2020, he supported the ITU’s PRIDA project as an expert on the HCM4A Agreement in Africa. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Széchenyi István University (with distinction) and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Szeged. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Informatics. His research interests include electromagnetic fields, magnetic hysteresis simulation, and international coordination policy. His academic work has earned several awards, including first prizes at national student conferences. Beyond his regulatory work, he teaches and conducts research at Széchenyi István University. He speaks English and Slovak and also holds a beer brewer’s certificate.
