Roberto Rodríguez-Pacheco earned his B.Sc. in Geological Engineering in 1989 from the Universidad de Moa “Dr. Antonio Nuñez Jimenez” in Moa, Holguín, Cuba. He specialized in Hydrogeology, obtaining his certification in 1997 from the Fundación Centro Internacional de Hidrogeología Subterránea in Barcelona, Spain. In 2002, he completed his Ph.D. at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, Spain. He is currently a full researcher at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in the Centro Nacional Instituto Geológico y Minero de España (CN IGME), specializing in the management of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) and hydrogeology in mining areas. His research output includes 48 articles, 7 books, 59 book chapters, 1 patent, 18 technical reports, as well as numerous presentations, lectures, and courses.
