Prof. S. S. Thakur received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics from Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar, in 1977 and 1982, respectively. He began his academic career in 1981 as a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics, was promoted to Associate Professor in 1998, and became a Professor of Applied Mathematics in 2006. In 2017, he assumed the position of Principal at Jabalpur Engineering College (a Government Engineering College in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh), and retired from this post in 2020. Prof. Thakur has made significant contributions to academia, having published over 300 research papers, edited five conference proceedings, and supervised 35 Ph.D. scholars. He has successfully organized major international conferences, including the “International Conference on Soft Computing and Intelligent Systems” in 2007 and the “International Conference on Engineering, Mathematical and Computational Intelligence” in 2019. He currently serves as the Chief Editor of the Journal of Mathematics and Computational Intelligence, and is an editorial board member and reviewer for several prestigious international journals and conferences. His current research interests span a wide range of areas, including Fuzzy Topology, Soft Topology, Intuitionistic Fuzzy Topology, Design of Fuzzy/Vague Controllers, Vague Rough Databases, High-Utility Data Mining, and Fuzzy Decision Making.
