Dr. Paul Wilkinson is a Principal Geophysicist at the British Geological Survey in Nottingham, United Kingdom. He earned his B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics from the University of Birmingham (1990–1993) and completed his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at the University of Nottingham (1993–1997). His research interests include the application of automated geoelectrical monitoring to landslide processes, embankment stability, leak detection, contaminated land remediation, and saline intrusion. He also focuses on the development of 2D/3D/4D geoelectrical data-processing and inversion algorithms, geophysical inversion with moving sensors, time-lapse automated survey design, tomographic image optimization, and geophysical applications of quantum technology sensing.
