Shengyuan Xiao is a professor at Jilin Agricultural
University. He is a member of the International Organization for
Standardization’s Technical Committee on Traditional Chinese Medicine and a
Chinese expert, a member of the National Technical Committee on Standardization
of Ginseng and Antler Products, and an executive director of the National
Standardization Innovation Center (Ginseng Center). He has taught courses such
as “Introduction to Pharmacy”, “Plant Chemistry”, “Advanced Plant Chemistry”,
etc. He has presided over and completed six scientific research projects,
including the major project of Jilin Province’s Science and Technology
Development “Research and Development of ISO International Standards for
Ginseng Seeds and Seedlings” (20130204059YY); he has participated in the completion of
many scientific research projects, such as the 973 project “Research on the
Effective Substances and Mechanisms of Qingkailing Injection to Inhibit
Cerebral Ischemia Cascade” (G1999054404); and he has participated in the drafting and publication
of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard “Ginseng
Seeds and Seedlings”. He has been granted seven authorized invention patents,
published one ISO international standard, published one monograph, and participated
in the publication of two monographs; he has won eleven scientific research awards of
different levels, including the First Prize for Scientific Progress of the
Ministry of Education.
