Magdalena Bieniasz received her Ph.D. in Medical Biology from the
Medical University of Lodz, Poland. She completed two Post-doctoral
Fellowships: one in the Department of Immunology at Roswell Park Cancer
Institute, Buffalo, NY, and the second in the Department of Oncological
Sciences at Huntsman Cancer Institute, Salt Lake City, UT. Since 2016, she has
held an Assistant Professor position at the Oklahoma Medical Research
Foundation in Oklahoma City. She developed an extensive expertise in cancer
biology and the development of patient-derived xenografts (PDXs). Her lab
investigates oncogenic drivers of tumor progression and mechanisms of
chemotherapy resistance in ovarian cancer. More recently, she developed
projects focusing on ovarian cancer metabolism to investigate the precision
medicine approaches targeting the unique metabolic state of cancer. Overall,
she strives to generate more personalized treatment options for ovarian cancer
patients with the ultimate goal of translating these therapies into clinical
practice.
