Ana Isabel Roca-Fernández is an Assistant Professor of Animal Production in the Department of Anatomy, Animal Production and Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain. She earned her PhD in Animal Production at the Agricultural Research Centre of Mabegondo (CIAM) and obtained her international doctoral degree from USC after completing a one-year PhD research period at several prestigious institutions, including TEAGASC-Moorepark (Ireland), AFBI-Hillsborough (North Ireland), Wageningen University (The Netherlands), INRA-Agrocampus Ouest (France), and DAIRYNZ (New Zealand). Her research focused on the sustainability of pasture-based milk production systems. She underwent two (two-year) postdoctoral stays at INRA-Agrocampus Ouest (France) and USDA-ARS (USA), where she conducted in vivo and in vitro experiments aimed at mitigating greenhouse gas emissions from dairy cows and enhancing farm resilience to climate change. She has contributed to many projects, e.g., MULTISWARD (FP7-244983) and Multifunctional Farms and Landscape to Enhance Ecosystem Services (8070-21000-008-00), has been honored with an Extraordinary Doctoral Award, and is a member of the GI-1649 Research Group in Agronomy and Animal Science. She teaches various undergraduate courses and mentors Bachelor's, Master’s, and PhD students. Throughout her career, she has published numerous scientific papers closely aligned with this Special Issue.
