Brian is the Associate Dean, College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Prescott campus and also serves as the Department Chair, Safety Sciences. Before becoming a professor, he led an aviation safety department for a large flight school and served as a check instructor. He is an FAA-certified commercial pilot, flight instructor, and administrative pilot examiner; he is also credentialed as a Certified International Safety Manager (ISSP), Advanced Aviation Safety Officer (DOT TSI), and HFACS Professional. His research interests are aviation safety management systems, human factors, and accident investigation and analysis. His course instruction includes graduate Aviation Safety Management Systems, graduate Aviation Human Factors, graduate Aircraft Accident Investigation, Thesis, Graduate Capstone Project, undergraduate Safety Program Management, and undergraduate Intro to Aerospace Safety.
