Prof. Dr. Irma da Silva Brito completed her Ph.D. in Nursing at the University of Porto in 2008. She has been a specialist in Community and Public Health Nursing since 1993. She is a Coordinating Professor at the Coimbra School of Nursing, a member of the Executive Committee of the International Collaboration of Participatory Health Research, the Vice-President of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Practice and Research, the founder and researcher at the Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing and a member of the Sigma Phi Xi Chapter. She has received an award for services rendered to the University of Cape Verde. She is a consultant for the development of the training and intervention plan for community nursing in Moldova. She currently invests in training researchers and developing multicenter projects in Participatory Action Research in Health.
