Dr. Cláudia Martins obtained her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2023, under a partnership with the University of Nottingham (U.K.) and the University of Louvain (Belgium), and is currently a Junior Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S) under the EU-funded GENEGUT project. In recent years, she has taken on the role of a visiting researcher at different academia (ETH Zurich (Switzerland), Queen's University Belfast (U.K.), University of Nottingham (U.K.), and University of Louvain (Belgium)) as well as at an industrial (MyBiotech GmbH (Germany)) institution. Some of her current areas of interest include biomaterials, targeted cancer nanomedicine, brain drug delivery, and tissue engineering. She has conducted extensive work in these areas since 2015, which has resulted in a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship, participation in seven R&D projects, and a Co-PI grant scheme funded by the U.K. Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). She has published more than 20 articles in international peer-reviewed journals (first author, last author, and co-author) and five book chapters, authored more than 40 communications in international conferences, and was awarded 22 distinctions (including the prestigious 2023 Galenus Technology Prize and the 2019 Nano2Clinic COST Action Early Career Investigator Award).
Prof. Dr. Ana Isabel Oliveira is an Associate Professor at the Instituto Politécnico do Porto Escola Superior de Saúde. She completed her Ph.D. in Plant Biology (MAP BIOPLANT) in 2015 from the University of Minho, School of Sciences, with a focus on nanotechnologu and natural compounds; a Master's degree in Molecular Microbiology in 2010 from the University of Aveiro; and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, School of Health. Her research interests integrate the dermopharmacy and cosmetics fields, natural products/compounds, and pharmaceutical/cosmetic formulation development.
Prof. Dr. Miguel A Prieto is an Associate Professor at the Department of Analytical and Food Chemistry, University of Vigo. He received his Ph.D. in Food Science Technology from the Institute of Marine Research (IIM-CSIC), Spain, in 2014. He has focused on several research topics across different fields, but always kept food science as his major research area. He has contributed to the optimization, implementation, and development of various extraction and analytical techniques for different natural molecules and evaluating their bioactivit. His research interests mainly include food chemistry, food technology, bioactive compounds, analytical chemistry, natural food products, valorization of food by-products, bioinformatics, and chemical engineering.
