Author Biographies

Alfredo Lerín-Calvo received his Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from Centro Superior de Estudios Universitarios La Salle, affiliated with Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and a Master's Degree in Advanced Physiotherapy in Pain Management from the same institution. He is currently serving as a Professor at La Salle and as Research Director at Clínica Neuron. He worked as a Physiotherapist at Polibea Norte and joined Clínica Neuron in 2021, where he was promoted to Research Director. His research topics mainly include the following: transcranial magnetic stimulation, gait rehabilitation in neurological patients, and intensive therapies in neurological treatment.
Juan José Fernández Pérez received his Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from Centro Superior de Estudios Universitarios La Salle in 2018 and a Master's Degree in Advanced Physiotherapy in Pain Management from the same institution in 2019. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physiotherapy at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. He worked as a Physiotherapist at Clínica de Neurorrehabilitación Foren (2018–2019). In 2024, he joined Clínica Neuron. His research topics mainly include the following: high-frequency electrical stimulation, pediatric and adult neurological disorders, and non-invasive electrical stimulation in the central and peripheral nervous systems.
Raúl Ferrer-Peña received his Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio in 2006, a Master's Degree in Manual Therapy from Universidad de Alcalá in 2015, and a Ph.D. in Pain Research from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in 2020. He worked as a Physiotherapist at Centro de Salud Entrevías, Gerencia Asistencial de Atención Primaria de la Comunidad de Madrid since 2006. In 2013, he joined Centro Superior de Estudios Universitarios La Salle, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and was promoted to Full Professor in 2018. His research topics mainly include the following: chronic pain, behavioral pain management, kinesiophobia, and the integration of technology in physiotherapy education.
Aitor Martín-Odriozola received his Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where he was awarded the Extraordinary End-of-Degree Prize. He also holds a Master's Degree in Neurosciences from the same university and is currently pursuing an Industrial Ph.D. in Neurosciences. He worked as a Research Assistant at the University of the Basque Country (2019–2020). In 2019, he joined Fesia Technology as Clinical Applications Director and was appointed Clinical Director at Fesia Clinic in 2020. His research topics mainly include the following: functional electrical stimulation, neurorehabilitation, and the application of new technologies in neurological rehabilitation.
