Author Biographies

Hyun Jun Park received his Master's degree in Biology from Kyungpook National University in 2021 and has been working as a researcher at Morechem R&D center since 2021. His research topics mainly include dermatology, whitening, autophagy, melanophagy, and hair loss. Most recently, his research, which has been submitted to the journal Autophagy, uncovered a novel mechanism of melanophagy, demonstrating the critical role of the PTK2-ITCH-MLANA-OPTN cascade, with potential implications for pigmentation disorder therapeutics.
Bonggeun Song received his Master's degree in Science from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology and has been working as a researcher at the R&D Center of Morechem since 2023. At Morechem, he focuses on the development of cosmetic raw materials, with a particular emphasis on plant-derived ingredients. He has contributed to the establishment of new extraction methods and the discovery of materials using plant-based sources.
Jihoon Song received his M.S. in Science from Kyung Hee University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the School of Pharmacy, Sungkyunkwan University. Since 2014, he has been working as an analytical researcher at Morechem, focusing on the analysis of botanical products and the development of novel analytical methods using instruments such as HPLC and GC. His research findings have been presented at academic conferences including the Society of Cosmetic Scientists of Korea and the Korean Society for Analytical Science. He has contributed to establishing reliable qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques for botanical product-based cosmetic ingredients.
SeungHee Park received her Master’s degree in Science from Incheon National University in 2020. Her research focused on honey, pollen analysis, antioxidant, neurodegeneration and antimicrobial activity. She studied the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of Korean Hovenia dulcis honey, and her research was submitted to the Food Sci. Anim. Resour. She has been working as a researcher at the Morechem R&D center since 2020, evaluating the antiaging, whitening and anti-inflammatory effects of cosmetic ingredients.
DaHye Wang received her bachelor’s and master's degrees in chemistry from Duksung Women's Unversity. (2011.02) She worked as a researcher at NIKOM (National Institute for Korean Medicine Development) from 2011.3 to 2014.11. At NIKOM, she worked on the isolation and purification of single compounds from herbal medicines and structural elucidation using NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy. She has been working as a researcher at Morechem R&D center (2014.12~), focusing on research on botanical extracts and efficacy ingredients. Recently, she has been researching and developing cosmetic ingredients from botanical extracts.
Hokyun Kwon received his M.S. in Applied Microbiology from Kangwon National University in 1999 and completed his Ph.D. coursework in 2006. He worked at Whanin Pharmaceutical from 1999 to 2018 as part of the biotechnology team, focusing on the development of microorganism-derived pharmaceuticals. Since 2018, he has been working as an R&D manager at Morechem, where he leads research on biotechnology-based cosmetic ingredients and contributes to innovation in cosmetic raw material development.
Dr. Ji-Ean Lee is a research director at the R&D Institute of Morechem Co., Ltd. She received her Ph.D. in Natural Product Chemistry from the Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences. Her postdoctoral research was conducted at the College of Engineering, Inha University, and she has also worked as a researcher at the National Development Institute of Korean Medicine and as a research professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Myongji University. Her research interests include pharmacognosy, herbal medicine, structure–activity relationship (SAR), total synthesis of bioactive compounds, X-ray crystallography, and structural identification. Recently, her work has focused on cosmetic ingredients, cosmeceuticals, peptides, medicinal plants, and skin delivery systems for industrial applications.
