Prof. Dr. Rhiannon Corcoran is a Professor of Psychology & Public Mental Health at the University of Liverpool. She previously held academic appointments in the School of Psychological Sciences at the University of Manchester and the Department of Psychology at UCL. Prof. Dr. Corcoran plays a leading role in supporting mental health and wellbeing research and practice within NIHR ARC North West Coast, and co-leads the public mental health work package in the Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre. She uses diverse methods, typically working across disciplines. Her projects include the WWCW ESRC Community Wellbeing Evidence Programme, the NIHR Policy Research Programme Ways to Wellbeing, MRC GroundsWell, NIHR ARC North West Coast, and the Prosocial Place Research & Practice Programme. She is best known for her work in the fields of Cognition, Social Psychology, Schizophrenia, Theory of Mind, Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Social Cognition, and Empathy. Her Theory of Mind studies incorporate themes from Attribution, Paranoia, Functional Neuroimaging, and Interpersonal Relationships. Her Developmental Psychology research includes elements of Schizophrenia, Psychological Theory, Cognition, and Social Perception.
