Dr. Lara Rodríguez Sánchez is a urologist specializing in prostate cancer and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including focal therapy. Her medical career began with a residency in Urology at Hospital Universitario de Fuenlabrada in Madrid. Committed to advancing her surgical expertise, she completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris in 2020. Seeking further international experience, she participated in the European Urological Scholarship Programme (EUSP) in 2021, during which she visited Koç University Hospital in Istanbul to gain insights into robotic urological surgery. Dr. Rodríguez Sánchez holds a PhD in health sciences from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, where her research focused on the evolution of urological cancer mortality in the Community of Madrid. In 2020, she earned a master’s degree in advanced prostate cancer from the University of Salamanca (Spain). In 2023, she completed two inter-university diplomas in genitourinary oncology from Institut Gustave Roussy and Lille University in Paris. Currently, she is a senior surgeon at Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, specializing in minimally invasive surgery and focal therapy for prostate cancer. She is the principal investigator of ENHANCE, a study exploring the role of androgen deprivation therapy combined with HIFU prostate hemiablation, and FALCON, an international consensus on focal therapy.
