She received her BS degree in mathematics from the University of Veracruz (Mexico) in 2004, her MSc degree in industrial mathematics and computer science from the Mathematics Research Center (Mexico), and her PhD degree in mathematics from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) in 2013. She is a full professor at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Veracruz. Martha Lorena is member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico (SNII, CONAHCYT, Mexico). She is interested and involved in mathematics outreach activities for children and young people. She participated in the British Council's women mentoring in STEM Science 2022-2023 program. Her research areas are optimization, applied mathematics, modeling and computer science.
