Author Biographies

Mariana Akemi Ikegawa Bernabé holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Córdoba and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Roads, Canals, and Ports) from the University of Seville. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Córdoba and a researcher in the European project HY4RES—Hybrid Solutions for Renewable Energy Systems: Achieving Net-Zero Atlantic Area Energy Consumers and Communities—funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area Program. Her research focuses on applying AI to optimize renewable energy management in hydraulic systems, and she contributes to the development of data analysis and AI models for energy demand forecasting. Previously, she collaborated on the project Development of Algorithms for the Location and Design of Microturbines in Collective Pressure Irrigation Networks, funded by the Regional Development Fund (FEDER) through the University of Córdoba. During her undergraduate studies, she received several academic awards, including the Best Academic Record Award from her faculty, the Award for Best Final Degree Project in Civil Engineering, the Final Degree and Master’s Final Projects Award for Sustainable Human Development, linked to the 2030 Agenda, and the Extraordinary End of Degree Award in Civil Engineering.
