Kundan Mishra is a Research Assistant in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas under the guidance of Dr. Shalini Prasad. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D., with a focus on developing electrochemical sensors for food safety and environmental monitoring. His research emphasizes the design of portable biosensors for detecting mycotoxins and antibiotic residues, designing point-of-care applications and sustainable technologies. He has presented his work at prestigious conferences, including the American Chemical Society (ACS) and The Electrochemical Society (ECS).
Thakkar is in her second year at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), majoring in Neuroscience on the Pre-Med Track. She is an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Shalini Prasad’s Biomedical Devices and Nanotechnology Laboratory. Thakkar is also a Hospice Volunteer, providing nurture and companionship to elderly patients receiving end-of-life care. Furthermore, she serves as a Volunteer Medical Assistant (MA) at a cardiac electrophysiology clinic, where she records patient vitals, collects medical history, and conducts EKGs. Krupa is also an active member of the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) and will become a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Introduction to Neuroscience in the upcoming Fall semester. Her varied experiences show her passion for and dedication to research, patient care, and community service.
