Author Biographies

Junbo Jia graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University, China with B.Eng. and M.Eng. in electrical engineering. He completed his Ph.D. studies from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is currently a lead scientist in Clean Energy Research Centre (CERC), Temasek Polytechnic. His areas of research include power electronics, Li-ion battery system modelling and control, as well as energy management system for underwater device, forklift, electric vehicle and micro-grid. He also serves as the consultant for the project on Development of Next Generation Lithium-Ion Energy Storage System (ESS) Solution & Smart Distributed ESS Management Application for Fire Hazard Mitigation under Hot-Humid Climatic Condition (2020-2022).

Ming Han is currently the Principal Research Scientist at the Clean Energy Research Centre (CERC) of Temasek Polytechnic (TP), and also serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Chongqing Fuel-Cell Technology Innovation & Industry Research Co., Ltd. (CQFC) in China. At CERC, he leads research in advanced energy conversion and storage technologies. As Chief Principal Investigator, he led China's "9th Five-Year Key Program – PEMFC Technology Project" under the Ministry of Science and Technology, successfully developing and demonstrating the country’s first 30 kW PEMFC prototype system in 1996. Since 2007, he has been actively involved in establishing CERC at TP and has served as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI for numerous research projects funded by the National Research Foundation (NRF), Ministry of Education, Energy Market Authority (EMA), and other agencies. His research interests focus on fuel cell technology, hydrogen technology, and flow batteries for large-scale energy storage. He has published 80 journal papers and filed 30 patents related to fuel cell technology.
