Prof. Dr. Izzet Kale is Head of the Department of Engineering at the University of Westminster and Director of the Applied DSP and VLSI Research Group. He completed his BSc studies in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Polytechnic of Central London, London, UK in 1983; MSc studies in the Design and Manufacture of Microelectronic Systems at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, UK in 1984; and PhD studies in Techniques for Reducing Digital Filter Complexity at the University of Westminster, London, UK in 1996. His research interests include digital-signal and analog-signal processing, silicon circuit and system design, digital-filter design and implementation, A/D and D/A sigma–delta converters, GNSS positioning systems, communication systems, low power, and low complexity satellite DSP processing payload engines.
Prof. Dr. Godfrey Kyazze is a Professor of Sustainable Bioprocess Engineering at the University of Westminster. He completed his BSc studies in Industrial Chemistry at Makerere University; MSc studies in Batch Process Engineering at Loughborough University, UK; and PhD studies at the Sustainable Environment Research Centre, University of Glamorgan, UK. His research interests include the utilization of biological resources for the fermentative production of renewable energy fuels/carriers; for example, bioethanol, biogas, biohydrogen and biobutanol, and bio-electrochemical systems, such as microbial fuel cells for wastewater treatment/electricity production, as well as production of renewable chemicals, and process optimization of bioreactor systems for the production of biological products.
